WOBURN, Mass. – The Suffolk women's tennis team returned to the win column Friday night as the Rams took down Lesley, 7-2, at the Woburn Racquet Club.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Suffolk grabbed a 2-1 edge after doubles play as the Rams took the first and second courts. Delaney Dunlap and Ilda Ascic broke open the scoring with an 8-4 victory over Theresa Pereira and Sara Stanton from the first position. Elena Cisernos Garcia and Kendall Smith followed suit with 8-6 victory in the second slot against Maddie Abbot and Jessica Russo. The Lynx grabbed the third court in between the Rams victories as Sarah Tobin and Mary Pulling downed Suffolk's Jordan Miller and Emily Bean, 8-5.
In singles action, Suffolk won every court except No. 6 to easily lock up the win.
Ascic got things going as the freshman downed Pereira, 6-1 6-1, in the second spot.
Miller set up match point with a 6-4, 6-0 versus Pulling in the fifth position before Smith clinched the non-conference victory with a 6-1, 6-2 triumph over Stanton in the fourth spot.
From there, Cisneros Garcia picked up a 6-2, 6-1, decision over Russo at No. 3 and Dunlap closed out the scoring for Suffolk with a 6-1, 6-1 victory against Abbott on court one.

- Suffolk won its fourth straight match over the Lynx to move to 4-0 versus Lesley since 2007.
Suffolk is set for three matches over four days next week with action getting underway Wednesday, Oct. 3 against St. Joseph (Conn.) at North Reading High School.
