In its first season as a varsity sport, Suffolk men’s and women’s track & field saw one Ram earned All-GNAC status with a pair of student-athletes garnering sports on the conference’s all-sportsmanship team.
Sophomores Mariama Kamara and Emma Weisse of the Suffolk women’s outdoor track & field team were the first-ever Rams to compete at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships May 3-5 at MIT’s Morrison Track. Kamara and Weisse represented the Rams against the best-of-the-best in New England in the program’s first varsity season.
On a historic day in GNAC and Suffolk track & field, Mariama Kamara made history herself with a personal best showing at first-ever GNAC Track & Field Championships Sunday afternoon at Regis Stadium.
Emma Weisse of the Suffolk women’s track & field team made history Monday, April 23 as the sophomore was named GNAC Corvias Athlete of the Week, becoming the first Ram in program history to take home the honor.
Emily Manfra and Emma Weisse of the Suffolk track & field team had a standout showing at MIT’s Sean Collier Invitational Saturday afternoon at Sherie and Don Morrison Track.
Dakhnsey Marcellus and Michelle Kearney of the Suffolk women’s track & field team raced at the Eric Loeschner Memorial Invitational Saturday afternoon hosted by Fitchburg State at Elliot Field.
Suffolk track & field competed at Southern New Hampshire’s Penmen Relay over the Weekend.
Over the weekend Emily Manfra and Emma Weisse of the Suffolk women’s track & field team represented the Rams at Connecticut College’s Silfen Invite.
Over the week, the Suffolk outdoor track & field teams opened their schedule as the Rams competed at the Tufts Snowflake Classic.
The 2018 spring season will be one to remember for Suffolk University Athletics as a new team will be representing the Rams with outdoor track & field added to the mix. Just 60 days away from their first official event as a varsity program, Track & Field/Cross Country Head Coach Will Feldman has unveiled the 2018 schedule.
