A pair of Suffolk University Volleyball players were named to their respective Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) All-Conference teams for the 2013 season.
Freshman Savannah Carpenter (Weston, Conn.) was a second-team All-Conference selection at Middle Blocker, while junior Tori Brillaud (North Andover, Mass.) was a third-team selection as an Outside Hitter.
Carpenter finishes the season with a team-high .257 hitting percentage which was fifth among all GNAC players on the season. She was second on the team with a 2.40 kills per set average while also leading the Rams with 44 solo blocks, the conference's third highest mark. Carpenter recorded at least 10 kills in 14 of Suffolk's 30 matches on the season while also ranking second on the team with 36 service aces.
Brillaud was the leader among all GNAC players with 353 total kills on the year. Her 4.0 points per set average was also tops among conference leaders during the season. Her 3.64 kills per set average leads all GNAC players by nearly half a point and ranks her 47th among all NCAA Division-III women's players in the nation. In 28 matches played during the 2013 season, Brillaud record double digits in kills in 20 of those contests, recording at least 15 kills in 11 of those games. Her 278 digs on defense were also the second highest total on the team.
Suffolk finished the 2013 season with a 16-14 overall record, their highest win total since the 2003 season and made the GNAC Tournament for the first time since the 2006 season under first-year Head Coach Kristine Mickelson. The duo are the first Suffolk players to earn postseason All-Conference recognition in six seasons.
