Women’s Cross Country Moves Up to Fifth in East in USTFCCCA Rankings
Suffolk women’s cross country inched up two spots in the East in Week 7 of the U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), the national organization announced Tuesday.

The Rams jumped two spots after they secured their fifth conse4cutive Conference of New England (CNE) Championship Saturday. Suffolk coasted throughout the 6k course on the campus of Gordon College the first four runners in the 92-field that crossed the tape donned the blue-and-gold for an impressive 21 total points, 53 ahead of runner-up Endicott.
Suffolk emerged in the weekly regional poll in 2021's Week 7 edition and has seen its name in all, but one since.
The Rams are one of three CNE programs to be recognized this week as Endicott landed ninth and University of New England rounded out the poll in 10th.
The USTFCCCA Regional Cross Country Coaches' Rankings are determined subjectively by a single member coach in each respective region. The regional representative is tasked with weighing returning team's strengths with current season results, when applicable, to determine a ranking-order by squad potential. Only USTFCCCA member programs are eligible to receive a ranking. The weekly ranking by the USTFCCCA began in 2010.
Suffolk will turn its attention to the NCAA Division III East Regionals, which the Rams will host Saturday, Nov. 15 at Hopkinton Fairgrounds in Hopkinton, New Hampshire.
