NEW ORLEANS – The No. 30 Suffolk women's cross country saw three student-athletes run to a pair of all-region distinctions at the 2025 NCAA Division III East Regional Championships last Saturday, Nov. 15 at Hopkinton Fair Grounds in Hopkinton, New Hampshire.
Sophomore Tess Drury, junior Sofia Moukaddem and senior Amy Pattelena all earned both All-New England and All-East honors behind their performances at the regional race in the Granite State.
To earn All-New England from the Division III Cross Country and Track & Field Association, a student-athlete must obtain a top-20 finish at the NCAA Division III East Regionals. The top-20 finishers apart of a New England program at the Mideast Regional also grabs the recognition.
All-East honors awarded by the U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) are given out by virtue of a top-35 finish at one of the 10 NCAA Division III regional sites. Only athletes from USTFCCCA member institutions are eligible for the awards.
The awards come on the heels of Suffolk's best-ever finish at regionals with a fourth-place performance, just 36 points off the podium behind Brandeis.
Drury was the blue-and-gold's leader on the 6k course as she compiled the best performance by a Ram at East regionals history by both time at 21:45.2 and finish as she captured ninth. The pair of all-region awards are a first for Richmond, Vermont product.
Moukaddem, meanwhile, came through the finisher's chute in 22:09.8, good for 14th. The Weston, Massachusetts, native repeated as an All-East honoree from USTFCCCA and picked up her first All-New England distinction.
Pattelena, who became the third-ever Ram to run at regionals four times in her collegiate career, locked up 20th thanks to her time of 22:21. The Hollis, New Hampshire native is the most decorated Ram regionally with six all-region honors to her credit.
It is the second straight season that Suffolk's women's program had multiple nods from both organizations. The three USTFCCCA All-East tie a program record, set by last season's squad, while the trio of All-New England distinctions is a first in the Rams' all-time annals, surpassing last year's two recognitions.
Suffolk is the only Conference of new England (CNE) women's team to pick up All-New England and is one of two conference teams to see a student-athlete earn All-East as Endicott had one runner garner the accolade.
The threesome look to continue Suffolk's historic season this Saturday, Nov. 22 when they lead the Rams as a squad at the NCAA Division III Championships for the first time in program history. The national championship race is set for an 11 a.m. gun at Roger Miliken Center in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
