Rebecca Hutton joined Suffolk University Athletics as part of the record breaking head coach, Will Feldman’s coaching staff. Hutton assists overseeing both men’s and women’s cross country and track & field teams.
In her first season, Hutton helped Suffolk to a seventh-place showing at the GNAC Championships, where sophomore Emma Weisse ran to All-GNAC status with a second-place showing on the 5k conference championship course. Hutton also had a hand in the team's first known finish at the NCAA DIII Regionals, which capped off a 2017 Fall season that saw the Rams run in four invitationals and one head-to-head meet.
Hutton brings her talents from Utah Valley, where was a standout student athlete, competing for the Wolverines. She won the Great West Conference Championship in the hammer throw and helped Utah Valley to three conference crowns. She also competed in the discus and shotput.
Her competition resume continues beyond track & field. Hutton competed in Olympic Weightlifting in the clean, jerk and snatch for nearly two years.
Hutton’s coaching day began at Timpanogos High School in Orem, Utah. As the throwing coach, she escalated the Timberwolves to a region championship, and saw six of her student-athletes land spots in the top-nine at the state championships.
Hutton has her certifications as a USA Track & Field Associate Official, USA Weightlifting Sports Performance Coach, NSCA certified Strength and Conditioning coach and a NSCA certified personal trainer.
A member of the Dean’s List for four semesters, Hutton graduated from Utah Valley with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with a minor in Community Health Education. She is continuing her education at Southern Utah, where she is working towards a Master of Science in Sports Performance and Conditioning.
