For the first time since 2020, Suffolk men’s and women’s indoor track & field will compete at NCAA Division III New Englands this weekend. The men’s meet will take place at Middlebury in Middlebury, Vermont, while the women head to Colby’s Indoor Competition Center in Waterville, Maine.
Seven different student-athletes competed across six different events at New Englands over the weekend at Middlebury.
Tim Barry and Michael Balestra of the Suffolk men’s indoor track & field combined for the three Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly awards. Barry grabbed both track athlete and rookie of the week, while Balestra took home field athlete of the week. The awards come on the heels of performances at the Wheaton Pre-Post Season Invitational.

Fresh off Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championships, the Suffolk men’s and women’s indoor track & field team will send a small number of Rams to the Wheaton Pre-Postseason Invitational Saturday, Feb. 19 at 2:30 p.m.
Suffolk men’s indoor track & field captured the inaugural Great Northeast Athletic Conference Championship two years ago and got the jump done again today as the Rams coasted past is five conference counterparts to hoist the trophy for the second time in as many years the event has been held Sunday evening at Boston University’s Track & Tennis Center.
Suffolk indoor track & field will divide its team for the upcoming weekend. The Rams runners will compete at Boston University’s John Thomas Terrier Classic with the women’s event on tap for Friday, Jan. 28 and the men’s event running Sunday, Jan. 29, while the blue-and-gold field athletes will participate at Tufts’ Branwen Smith-King Invitational Sunday, Jan. 29.
Suffolk men’s indoor track & field’s roster is one of the biggest to date and that’s in large part to the 20 Rams rookies that head coach Will Feldman brought in over the off season.
