For the second straight season Suffolk softball had nine student-athletes recognized for their work inside the class as the group garnered NFCA/Easton Scholar-Athlete status, the national organization announced.

Suffolk softball, the North Division’s second seed, fell behind early and never came back as the top seed from South Side, Simmons, captured the elimination contest, 8-1, Friday night at Daly Field.

After playing in one of the longest games in program history, Suffolk softball, the North Division’s second seed, looks to keep its season going tonight when it takes on the South Division’s top seed and 2019 GNAC Softball Tournament host Simmons in an elimination outing Friday, May 3 at Daly Field. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m.

Suffolk softball matched the most innings played in its 34-year history, but the second seed of the North Division could not hold off the side’s third seed Saint Joseph’s (Maine), who racked up three in the 11th to defeat the Rams, 6-4, in the second-round of the 2019 GNAC Softball Tournament.

The Suffolk softball team’s quest to GNAC glory begins Thursday, May 2 as the North Division’s second-seed heads across town to Robert Clemente Field in Fenway for a 4:30 p.m. second-round matchup versus the North side’s fourth-seed Saint Joseph’s (Maine). The winner of that contest will play again at 6:30 p.m. versus the North side’s top seed, Emmanuel.

The stage is set for Suffolk softball’s GNAC second-round match Thursday, May 2 as the North Division’s second-seeded Rams will take on the North Division’s third seed Saint Joseph’s (Maine) at Robert Clemente Field at 4:30 p.m.

Thanks to its GNAC regular-season sweep at Saint Joseph’s (Maine) Monday night, the Suffolk softball team will head into the 2019 GNAC Tournament as the second-seed of the North Division, the league office announced Monday night.

Suffolk softball secured a GNAC series sweep over Saint Joseph’s (Maine) behind an 8-2 game 2 win against the Monks Monday night at Richard W. Bailey Field.

A powerful start, seven runs over the first two innings, pushed Suffolk softball past Saint Joseph’s (Maine), 10-6, Monday afternoon at Richard W. Bailey Field. The Rams’ win clinched the second seed in the GNAC North Division for a first-round bye in the upcoming 2019 GNAC Tournament.

Suffolk softball will cap off its 2019 GNAC regular-season slate Monday, April 29 with a trip to Saint Joseph’s (Maine). The Rams and Monks will open their conference double feature with a 3:30 p.m. first pitch.

Suffolk softball overcame a five-run deficit to force extra innings, but did not carry the momentum over and Johnson & Wales did to take down the Rams, 10-6, in the nightcap of a GNAC double feature Sunday afternoon at Robert Clemente Field.

Suffolk softball’s bats never got going in the opener of a GNAC series with Johnson & Wales and the Wildcats took advantage to defeat the Rams, 5-1, Sunday morning at Robert Clemente Field.
