Taylor Lester enters her second season as an assistant coach on Jaclyn Davis’ staff in 2019.

Lester’s first season in 2018 was one for the record book as the Rams were bolstered by the winningest class in Suffolk history in Madison Eucalitto, Devlin Frost, Taylor Holmes, Sydney Littlefield, Delaney Sylvester and Ali Yamakaitis. A bevy of underclassmen added to the core six to help the blue-and-gold capture the GNAC regular season title for the third time in the last four years and make its sixth appearance in the GNAC championship series.

The Sylvester sisters turned into a dynamic duo throughout the year with Delaney setting the all-time record the same day her young sister, Payton, threw the first known no-hitter – a 14-0, five-inning victory at Simmons in the regular season finale April 29. The two went on to be named GNAC Player of the Year (Delaney) and GNAC Rookie of the Year (Payton), while garnering first-team all-league honors. Holmes joined the siblings on the all-conference first-team as well, while the threesome each earned respective spots across the NFCA All-Region squads with Delaney’s first-team nod headlining the group. Overall, five Rams were acknowledge by the conference with all-league honors.

Recognition was not lone to athletics, however, as Holmes was awarded for her academic success off the diamond as the first-ever Suffolk softball player to take home Google Cloud Academic All-American honors.

Lester is fresh off her playing career at Stonehill College, where she captained the Skyhawks as a season. The second baseman wrapped up her collegiate career hitting .280 with a .288 slugging percentage, .311 on-base percentage with 16 RBI and eight stolen bases. Lester, who earned her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Criminology, was a four-time NE10 Commissioner’s Honor Roll student and garnered Athletic Director Honor Roll status in her freshman season.

Throughout the years, Lester has worked with various softball camps at both the high school and collegiate levels. She has a knack for one-on-one skill building thanks to many years as a youth private instructor.

As an intern at Coaching4Chance, Lester served as the Site Coordinator where she planned programs and volunteer with organizations in an effort to achieve success in developing and bettering lives of inner-city youth in Brockton, Massachusetts.

Lester, whose roots stem from East Northport, New York, and is currently living in Boston and continuing her education at Suffolk, working towards a Masters in Mental Health Counseling.
