Ashley Brown joined the Suffolk women’s basketball team as an assistant coach on Ed Leyden’s staff in 2025.

Brown brings a wealth of coaching experience across both collegiate and high school programs. She currently serves as an assistant coach for New Bedford softball and has previously worked with women’s basketball at Bristol Community College and Nichols College. Brown also spent time as head coach of Lumberyard Xplostion Softball, a travel program based in New Bedford.

Before stepping into coaching, Brown had a successful collegiate playing career at UMass Dartmouth. A two-year captain for the Corsairs, she competed for the women’s basketball program, while pursuing her Bachelor of Science in management with a concentration in organizational leadership from the Charlton College of Business, graduating in 2021.

Off the court, Brown is committed to education as a mathematics teacher at New Bedford High School, where she blends leadership, mentorship, and classroom management to inspire her students.
