BOSTON – Suffolk women's golf has a full weekend of action in store in Vacation Land as it heads up to Brunswick, Maine Oct. 4-5 for the Polar Bear Invitational.

LAST TIME OUT
Suffolk women's golf closed out its weekend with another winning performance as the Rams captured the Keene State Invitational at the Keene Country Club Sunday.  

The Rams handled the seven-team field as they compiled a 332. The blue-and-gold's card was 41 strokes better than runner-up Keene State, who shot a 373. That team performance marked a program-best at the Keene Country Club for Suffolk as it upstaged a 336, which the Rams achieved in 2023 in a head-to-head dual with the Owls.

THE COMPETITION
Suffolk will be joined by Amherst, Bates, Babson, Bentley, Bowdoin, Drew, Middlebury, Husson. Southern Maine, Southern Maine Community College, Wellesley, Wesleyan, and Williams in the 14-team field. 

THE COURSE
Nestled in the heart of midcoastal Maine, the Brunswick Golf Club is an 18-hole championship golf course with a par of 72 that stretches out 6,643 yards.

SUFFOLK AT THE BRUNSWICK COUNTRY CLUB

• Suffolk will compete at the Brunswick Golf Club for the third time in program history.
• The Rams best team finish at the course was sixth in the eight-team Polar Bear Shootout field in 2023 with a two-day score of 679. The 330 on day two set a program 18-hole scoring record at the time.
• The Rams' most recent showing was a 681 at the 2024 Polar Bear Shootout to finish 10th of 13.
• Individually, Ellie Yarbrough holds Suffolk's best Brunswick Country Club finish, finishing 12th in the 46-golfer field in 2023 with a 164.
• Brooke Bugajewski tied Suffolk's single-round program-low with a 78, equaling Isabel Smith's round at the 2023 shootout.

RAMS RECOGNITION
Women's golf freshman Lauren Phelan was named the first CNE Rookie of the Week in program history following her standout performances in the Hartford Tri-Match and the Keene State Invitational.

SUFFOLK'S SCHEDULE
The Rams will round out the fall slate by taking part in the inaugural CNE Women's Golf Championship October 11-12 at the Keney Park Golf Course in Hartford, Connecticut.
