EAST BOSTON – Suffolk women's lacrosse was bested by Conference of New England (CNE) foe Johnson & Wales, 20-9, on Saturday afternoon at James A. Sartori Stadium at East Boston Memorial Park. The Wildcats used a 10-2 second half surge to pull away with the conference contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After an early tally from JWU, Bridget O'Leary weaved through the defense to even the score at 1-1 just over a minute in. Just 42 seconds later, the Wildcats answered to regain the lead before Carly Ehwafound Lauren Woods on the doorstep for a man-up goal to tie it at 2-2. Charlotte Goodman then gave Suffolk its first lead, finishing in close through contact. JWU responded with three straight goals over a 7:10 stretch to go back in front, 5-3, but Elisyn Morey cut the deficit to one with 1:09 left in the quarter to make it 5-4
- The back-and-forth action continued into the second, with each team scoring in the opening three minutes. Zoe Peckham brought Suffolk within one again at 6-5 before JWU capitalized on a yellow card with two man-up goals to extend its lead to 8-5 midway through the frame. The Rams answered with a free-position goal from O'Leary and a man-up strike from Julia Dickinson to pull within 8-7 with 6:55 remaining. JWU closed the half with the final two goals to take a 10-7 advantage into the break.
- JWU opened the second half with a five-goal run, part of a larger 7-0 stretch spanning halves, before Ehwa found the back of the net late in the third to halt the run as the Wildcats carried a 15-8 lead into the fourth. Goodman added her second of the game in the final frame, but JWU maintained control down the stretch to secure a 20-9 decision.
GOALIE LOG
- Charlotte Guziejka stopped eight shots in the contest.
- Kylie O'Keefe started in net for the Wildcats and made one save. Carley Cook came on to relief O'Keefe and made six saves.
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING
- O'Leary filled the stat sheet with two goals, four ground balls, and one draw control.
- Goodman added two goals with one ground ball and one draw control.
- Ehwa totalled three points with one goal and two helpers, along with one ground ball.
- Dickinson registered one goal and one assist.
- Morey, Peckham, and Woods all found the back of the net once.
- Jessie Le dished out one assist.
- Penelope Lawlor led the team at the draw with four draw controls.

- Lawlor secured a career-high four ground balls.
