PAXTON, Mass. – Playing in over 100 minutes of scoreless action, the Suffolk women's soccer team could not outlast Anna Maria as the Rams fell on a penalty kick, 1-0, in double overtime action Saturday afternoon at AMCAT Field.
The AMCATS' Ashley Bottis buried a penalty kick in the 103rd minute of action to lead Anna Maria to 3-7-1 overall and its first GNAC win of the season (1-2-1). Kirsten Weiker picked up four saves as the freshman and Suffolk dipped to 3-9 overall and 2-3 in conference play.
Suffolk held the advantage in the shots column, 23-15, including attempts on target, 13-5. Jennifer Martin booted a game-high 14 shots, seven on which were on target. Bottis had seven shots to her credit to lead the AMCATS.
