Outdoor Track & Field Ready for New Englands

BOSTON – Suffolk men's and women's outdoor track & field will be well-represented at the New England Division III Championships this weekend as 14 Rams and three blue-and-gold relay teams will compete at the 2025 New England Division III Outdoor Championships at United State Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut May 2-3.

RAMS AT REGIONALS

  • The 14 Rams, evenly divided between seven men and seven women – are the most Rams to represent Suffolk at outdoor regional in a single season in program history. 
  • Suffolk's men's team will compete at regionals for the fifth time in program history, while the women will participate at New Engalnds for the sixth time. 
  • Amanda Walden will become the first Ram in program history, male or female, to participate at regionals for the fourth time in their collegiate career. She made her New England outdoor debut in the 100 in 2022. 
  • Tim Barry, Amalida Dorion, and Amanda Walden will all compete in multiple individual events at regionals. Walden is the first Ram to compete in multiple events at outdoor regionals in back-to-back seasons in program history. Barry is the second-ever male to compete in multiple events at regionals, first since Thomas Novy (5k, 10k) in 2022, while Dorion joins Walden as the second-ever female runner to patriciate in more than one event at outdoor New Englands. 
  • Devyn Battistoni will appear in the pole vault for the second straight season and second time in her career. A year ago, she was the first Ram to pole vault at outdoor regionals in program history. 
  • Tim Barry (800, 1500) will become the first male student-athlete to compete at outdoor regionals for the third time. He is the second-ever Suffolk student-athlete to make three outdoor New England appearances, first since Amanda Walden accomplished the feat a year ago.
  • High jumpers Averie Denelle and Michael Makiej are the first Rams to compete in the event at outdoor New England in program history. Both are making their outdoor regional debuts. 
  • Nico Carrillo, who became the first Ram to compete in the decathlon earlier this year, will be the first-ever Suffolk student-athlete to compete in the event at regionals. 
  • Sydney Fogg (1500) will return to regionals for the second time in her career. 
  • Jacob Dubin (10k), Jaden Wenceslao (10k), Sean Jacobsen (10k), Hayden Green (10k), Amy Pattelena(1500) and Sofia Moukaddem (10k) will be making their Suffolk regional debuts. 

ALL-REGION

  • The top-eight performers in each event will garner all-region distinction with the top three finishers earning a place atop the podium and they will pick up a medal in the process. 
  • Suffolk women's 4x400 Relay Team raced to All-New England in 2023 with an eighth-place performance behind a time of 4:05.42.
