Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Finishes 13th at Outdoor New Englands 

NEW LONDON, Conn. – Suffolk women's outdoor track & field had a stand out showing at the 2025 New England Outdoor Track & Field Championships at the United States Coast Guard Academy over the weekend as it finished 13th. 

The Rams 13th-place team performance in the field of 39 came behind 24 points. The blue-and-gold had eight top-10 finishes including one podium finish and three top-4 performers.   

ALL-REGION

  • Devyn Battistoni (pole vault), Amalia Dorion (1500, 5000), Sydney Fogg (1500) and Sofia Moukaddem(10k) all earned all-region distinctions behind their top-8 finishes in their respective events.  

RAMS RECORDS

  • Amanda Walden broke her own personal record in the 100 with a time of 12.36. 
  • Moukaddem rewrote the program's 10k record with a 37:57.90 effort. 
  • Battistoni set a new score record in the pole vault with a 3.55-meter showing.  

RAMS RUNNERS

  • Dorion was one spot off the podium in the 5000 with a 17:29.84 performance. 
  • Like the 5k, Dorion was just one spot shy of the podium in the 1500 as she finished fourth with a time of 4:39.27. Fogg, meanwhile, was two spots behind her in sixth behind a time of 4:45.59. Amy Pattelena, meanwhile, put together a 4:53.99 showing, good for 10th. 
  • Moukaddem sealed up sixth-place in the 10k as she crossed the tape in 37:57.90. 
  • Walden produced a 10th-place finish in the 100-meter dash thanks to a time of 12.36. 
  • Walden slid into 13th in the 200 as she made the half lap around the track in 25.60. 

RAMS RELAYS

  • The quartet of Walden, Kaylie Groom, Pattelena and Meily Concepcion combined for an 11th-place performance in the 4x400 with a time of 4:10.06.  

JUMPERS JIST

  • Battistoni cleared 3.55 meters in the pole vault to take second in the 15-jumper field 
  • Averie Denelle claimed ninth in the high jump as she cleared 1.51 meters.  

NOTEWORTHY

  • The 13th-place performance as a team is the best for Suffolk in program history. 
  • The five all-region performers mark a new program-record for the Rams at outdoor regionals, upstaging the previous mark of two, set in 2019 by Emily Manfra and Emma Weisse
  • The second-place performance by Battistoni is the highest finish by a Rams' women since Emily Manfra was the runner-up in the 1500 in 2019. 
  • Battistoni became the first pole vaulter, male or female, in Suffolk's history to place at New England's. 
  • Walden became the first student-athlete in Suffolk's history to compete in four New England Outdoor Championships. 
  • Walden competed in multiple events at regionals in back-to-back seasons, the first Ram, male or female, to do so. 
  • Dorion joined Walden as the second-ever female runner to participate in more than one event at outdoor New Englands. 
  • Dorion is the first-ever Ram, male or female, to pick up multiple all-region accolades at outdoor New Englands. 
  • Denelle was the first Ram female to compete in the high jump. 
  • Fogg returned to regionals for the second time in her career. 
  • Pattelena and Moukaddem made their Suffolk regional debut.
