Baseball Captures GNAC Regular Season Title

The Suffolk University Baseball team captured the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) regular season title sweeping Rivier College in a double header on Wednesday afternoon to finish with a 13-1 mark in conference play. The Rams offense exploded once again topping the Raiders, 10-3 in game one before an 18-run outburst in game two as the Rams picked up a shutout in the nightcap. Suffolk scored 57 runs in a span of 24 hours in back-to-back double headers to round out the regular season and claim the top-seed in next week’s conference tournament. The Rams collected 33 hits in the two game’s combined.

The GNAC Tournament will open up on Tuesday afternoon as the top six teams in the league make the playoffs. With the number one seed the Rams will recieve a bye and host the Quarterfinal matchup on Thursday.

Suffolk will have a pair of non-league games this weekend to tune-up for the tournament. The Rams will host Brandeis University on Friday afternoon at 3:30pm.
