BOSTON – Katelyn Rourke of the Suffolk women's basketball team brought home her third GNAC Corvias Rookie of the Week nod of the season on the heels of a 2-0 road Rams week, which featured 9.0 ppg and 9.5 rpg.
Rourke's third honor comes after a seven-point, four-rebound, two-assist effort in just 17 minutes of action in a 63-56 win at Albertus Magnus. Her power performance came in Suffolk's final regular-season road test at Simmons. The freshman from Watertown, Massachusetts, put her second double-double game together with 11 points and 15 boards, including 11 on the defensive end. She shot 5-for-7 from the floor versus the Sharks and recorded two handouts and to blocks.
Rourke and classmate Alexis Hackett account for 11 of the conference's rookie weekly awards this season with the former owning three and the latter taking home six accolades.
Suffolk closes out its regular-season slate Saturday, Feb. 18 when Emmanuel stops by for the Rams Senior Day.
