Women's Soccer Sweep GNAC Weekly Awards

For the second consecutive week the Suffolk University Women’s Soccer team swept the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) weekly honors.

Junior Leslie Hayden (Ross, Calif.) was named GNAC Player of the Week for September 27. Hayden had a goal and four assists in last Wednesday’s 6-2 victory over the previously undefeated St. Joseph’s College Monks.  Hayden added her fifth assist of the week in Saturday’s loss bringing her point total 16 (7 goals and 4 assists) in seven games thus far in 2010.

Freshman Taylor Miranda (Smithtown, N.Y.) was named GNAC Rookie of the Week for the second week in a row. Miranda led the Rams on Wednesday scoring her first career hat trick and then tallied her fourth goal of the week in Saturday’s 3-1 loss. In the Rams past four games, all conference matches, Miranda has scored eight goals as the Rams have gone 3-1 in that span. Miranda currently leads the GNAC in goals (10), points (21) and points per game (3.5).
