NSCAA 2015-16 College Team Academic Award Winners
BOSTON – For the eighth consecutive year, the Suffolk women's soccer team was recognized for exemplary performance inside the classroom by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) with the Team Academic Award for the 2015-16 season.
As a team, the Rams posted a 3.42 cumulative grade-point average last season, the first under head coach Darren Llyod. Suffolk was one of six GNAC teams to be recognized, with Albertus Magnus, Johnson & Wales, Mount Ida, Saint Joseph's (Maine), and Simmons also making the list. Overall, 577 women's teams across all divisions nationally made the list.
To qualify as a NSCAA Academic Team, the team must have a minimum grade-point average of 3.0 or higher for the entire academic year.
As a whole, Suffolk's athletic department achieved a 3.2 GPA over the 2015-16 calendar year, with the women's soccer team's 3.42 mark leading the way for all 13 of the Rams' varsity sports.
