Sophomore midfielder JoJo Strobino snapped a scoreless stalemate with a goal off a corner kick in the 63rd minute to lift top-seeded Saint Joseph’s (Maine) past #8 Suffolk, 1-0, in a hotly-contest GNAC Men’s Soccer Tournament Quarterfinal at SJC Athletics Complex Sunday afternoon.
The Suffolk men’s soccer team will travel to Standish, Maine, this weekend to compete in the 2017 GNAC Men’s Soccer Tournament Quarterfinals. The No. 8 seed Rams will take on the top seed, unbeaten regular season champion Saint Joseph’s (Maine) Sunday, Oct. 29 at 1 p.m. at the SJC Athletics Complex.
With under three minutes remaining, Christian Restrepo put away his third game-winner of the season to send Suffolk men’s soccer past Fitchburg State, 3-2, for the first-ever Rams’ win of the Falcons as the blue-and-gold closed home regular season action Tuesday night at East Boston Memorial Park’s James A. Sartori Stadium.
Suffolk men’s soccer will use its Tuesday, Oct. 24 tilt versus Fitchburg State to prep for the 2017 GNAC Men’s Soccer Tournament. The Rams regular season finale featuring the Falcons is set for a 7 p.m. first kick at James A. Sartori Stadium at East Boston Memorial Park.
In a non-conference matchup, the Suffolk men’s soccer team heads to neutral site, Danehy Park in Cambridge, Massachusetts for a matchup with the Lesley Lynx Sunday, Oct. 22. The out of league contest is set for 12 p.m. start.
With eight seconds remaining in regulation and the score locked at 2-all, Jackson Hines buried a header off a Rams’ corner to push the Suffolk men’s soccer team over Lasell, 3-2, Tuesday afternoon at Taylor Field to clinch a GNAC playoff spot for the rams.
